Hello! I’m so excited to share a new review with you guys and today, we’re going to be discussing Academy 7, by Anne Osterlund. I picked this book up by chance, and let me tell ya, I’m so so glad I decided to pick it up!
With a past too terrible to speak of, and a bleak, lonely future ahead of her, Aerin Renning is shocked to find she has earned a place at the most exclusive school in the universe. Aerin excels at Academy 7 in all but debate, where Dane Madousin, son of one of the most powerful men in the Alliance, consistently outtalks her. Fortunately Aerin consistently outwits him at sparring. They are at the top of their class until Dane jeopardizes everything and Aerin is unintentionally dragged down with him. When the pair is given a joint punishment, an unexpected friendship and romance begins to form. But Dane and Aerin both harbor dangerous secrets, and the two are linked in ways neither of them could ever have imagined.
Author: Anne Osterlund
Genre: Young Adult, Science Fiction
This book follows Aerin and Dane as they attend Academy 7, a really fancy space school that trains students to a level of excellence that surpasses all other academies. The two seem to be at odds with each other until they both get into this school’s version of detention, and from there, we get to see the two of them grow.
I really really liked both Aerin and Dane. In the beginning Aerin was a strong character, but she was quiet and removed, keeping to herself. After she meets Dane and a friendship develops, she completely blossoms, and Dane is an absolute gem to her. He has an interesting backstory, and he is such a sweet guy. As a pair, they have such a great dynamic, and I absolutely love their friendship. Over the course of the book, their lives begin to entwine, and from there this one gets really interesting. I absolutely adored this book, and the world and characters were an absolute treat.
I highly recommend this one! If you’re looking for a fun short book with different planets, spaceships and cute kissing scenes, I would definitely give Academy 7 a chance! If you’ve read this or plan on reading it, leave a comment down below, I’d love to hear what you have to say.
