I WANT IT THAT WAY: ANN AGUIRRE REVIEW

Hey friends, I hope everyone is having a great start to September, and also a great start to your school year! (if you’re in school still) Today I have a review for you! A special thank you to Harlequin for sending me an e-arc copy in exchange for a honest review. This book was released last month.

Author: Ann Aguirre
Publisher: Harlequin
Pages: 352
Genre: New Adult
Rating:5/5

Nadia Conrad has big dreams, and she’s determined to make them come true. But between maintaining her college scholarship and working at the local day care to support herself, dating’s the last thing on her mind. Then she moves into a new apartment and meets the taciturn yet irresistible guy in 1B.

Daniel Tyler has grown up too fast. Becoming a single dad at twenty turned his life upside down—and brought him heartache he can’t risk again. Now, as he raises his four-year-old son while balancing a full-time construction management job and night classes, the last thing he wants is noisy students living in the apartment upstairs. But one night, Nadia’s and Ty’s paths cross, and soon they can’t stay away from each other.

The timing is all wrong—but love happens when it happens. And you can’t know what you truly need until you stand to lose it.

This book is seriously so freaking good. I went into it not really knowing what to expect, and I came out in love. Unlike most NA contemporary, the situations the characters were in were actually more in depth than “you’re hot, so therefore I must love you.” It was quite refreshing to see an author expand past the typical boundaries, and create a really interesting book.

So, Nadia and Ty have a really interesting relationship. They first meet as Nadia moves into the apartment, and then quite a few more times on the balconies. It isn’t until later on, that they actually realize their feelings for one another.

It wasn’t until after they introduced Ty’s son, Sam that I was totally and completely invested. Sam was so adorable and special, he made your heart melt. Seeing the dynamic relationship between Ty and Sam was also so great! Since Ty was a single dad, it was so amazing to see the kind of love and effort that he put in with Sam.

All and all, this book is a must read! If you’re searching for a contemporary that’s a little different this is definitely one you should consider! Also, that cover is so beautiful!

Love,
Taylor
